It
is a rare event when a dive emergency is a single event. More often than
not, separate small problems compound to create a larger problem. DAN offers
several dive-oriented first aid training programs. Because these courses are
often taught independently, there is repetitive information and skills. The
Diving Emergency Management Provider program allows DAN Instructors to offer
an integrated program to train divers to learn the information and skills in
DAN Training Programs, at a significant savings of time, but without
sacrificing any skills. This single program integrates the knowledge and
skills from several DAN Training Programs into a single course.
The DAN Diving
Emergency Management Provider course includes:
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
for Scuba Diving
Advanced Oxygen First Aid for Scuba
Diving
After reviewing
the skills and knowledge development portions of this program, the students
then participate in an integrated scenario where they get the opportunity to
bring together all of the skills they learned in each of the segments into a
single scenario.
Prerequisite:
DEMP Students should be at least 12 years old and have current CPR training.
