Atlantis Dumaguete Resort Philippines |

March 7-17, 2009 |
|
You can look forward to
escaping next winter with a trip scheduled for March of 2009.
Join Tom Pederson
on another great exotic dive adventure.
|
For
a little more than a Caribbean dive trip you can enjoy the exotic reefs
of the Pacific. Join us on a dive trip to the Atlantis Dumaguete
Resort on the southern tip of the island of Negros. This small,
(37 room) resort is a dive oriented resort located on a quiet stretch of
beach. We have booked both sea view and garden view rooms.*
The resort has a fresh water pool and onsite spa for our relaxation.
Meals are included and are served at the beachside restaurant. |
 |
|
| The diving is handled by the
onsite PADI Five Star Career Development Center. We will be exploring
the nearby reefs, islands, and marine preserves. The surrounding
archipelago has more than 3,000 species of fish and 448 species of coral
– hundreds more than the Great Barrier Reef! Included in our dive
itinerary is the must-see Apo Island Apo island is one of the
Philippines oldest and most successful marine preserves. By all
reports the dive sites in the sanctuary are teeming with life and color.
Made famous in Papua New Guinea, “muck” dives are very popular in this
region. Though you really are not diving in muck, it is on these
dives that you can encounter bizarre creatures such as ghost pipefish,
white thorny seahorses, starry morays and a whole lot more. |
|
|
Besides the diving and beachside relaxing there is
plenty else to do. We can arrange for hikes through the jungle to lakes and
waterfalls as well as visits to local villages and markets. About 12 miles from
our resort is the small city of Dumaguete. It is home to the well respected
Silliman University – the oldest Protestant University in the Philippines. The
Marine laboratory is open to visitors. The town itself is described as having a
“casual campus feel” with interesting historical buildings, coffee shops,
restaurants, and bars to visit. We look forward to having you join us next
