Scuba
Center Refresher Programs |
| How current are your
skills? Has it been a while since you have been diving? Scuba
Center has several options to help get you back in the water.
Deciding which class can best serve your needs will require honest
evaluation of your diving history. How long has it been and how much
do you remember? |
|
|
|
Review the following options, then
let us know how we can help you return to the underwater world.

|
| What if I've been out of the water for a
few months (or a few years)? |
|
Either the PADI Scuba Review or the
Diamond Reef Buoyancy Course should be a perfect fit. |
|
|
PADI Scuba Review
|
| If it has been a while since
you've been diving the PADI Scuba Review is made for you. You start with PADI's Scuba Tune
Up workbook which you can pick up when you register for the class. This is a great review
of basic scuba knowledge including dive tables (and the other skills that get a little
rusty). The PADI Scuba Review class starts with a classroom session reviewing the PADI
Scuba Tune Up workbook and answering questions you may have. We'll
also go over changes in dive techniques and equipment since your
certification. We follow the class session with a
pool session the same day, where we review the basic scuba skills. The PADI Scuba Review
is a great confidence builder for those getting ready to take a tropical dive trip. |

Diamond Reef Buoyancy Course
|
| The Diamond Reef System is a
buoyancy training program that utilizes a unique, modular, artificial reef
that gives you a way to measure your buoyancy proficiency. Through the
Diamond Reef Buoyancy System, certified divers will learn to be more aware
of proper ascent rates, horizontal hovering, breathing and subtle body
movement techniques to control, and be shown what their swimming cross
section really is. This pool course will teach you the basics to
improve your buoyancy control skills and increase your environmental
impact awareness. |

|
| What if I have been away from diving for an extended period of time (five years, ten
years,...)? |
|
We have found that in these cases, a more
in-depth program is generally required. |

Classroom and Pool
Training
|
| While it is true
that "Once you are certified, you are certified for life", your
skills do get rusty. Techniques and equipment options also change
over the years. For someone who has been out of the water for many
years, something more extensive than the two options listed above is
usually appropriate. |
| We have had great
success with customers who have updated their skills by retaking the
classroom and pool portions of the Open Water Training. This provides
students with updated home study materials along with a greater amount of
class and pool time than offered in other options. Classroom and
pool training using state of the art equipment, combined with our small
group size, assures a thorough and enjoyable training program. Classroom
and pool training is conveniently scheduled throughout the year, with new
classes beginning nearly every week. We offer evening, day-time and
weekend courses. |
