The Problem: Number 5 bunker oil and other nasty Petrochemicals can eat through many materials, are difficult to clean off and can permanently stain your dive gear. Unfortunately Bunker oil and other nasty Petrochemicals can remain in a shipwreck for many years and if a diver makes contact, many hours can be spent cleaning gear.

The Solution: This OMS BC has been redesigned for 2008 to meet the stringent requirements of Public Safety Divers (PSD) and Military divers around the world with regard to diving either in polluted water or HAZMAT conditions. The BC is now made with single bag construction and the IQ ™ has new materials added to prevent adsorption of toxic liquids and other undesirable substances. This makes the BC and harness easy to decontaminate. Both harness and BC use a 5 oz. Urethane coated Cordura (coated on both sides) giving outstanding chemical and abrasion resistance. The harness now incorporates a heavy duty 8mm D-Ring so that the diver can be tethered and lifted out of the water.
OMS Chemically Resistant IQ Pack Harness -- Model # IQ C
The OMS IQ Pack incorporates the "soft/hard" concept (the optional backplate slides in behind the back pad), form fit, easy don/doff, but has been engineered to provide a streamlined appearance and fit.  This harness is equipped with multiple side, shoulder, and butt mount D-rings.  A optional single cylinder Cam Band system has been integrated into the back of the IQ allowing for very light weight.
OMS Chemically Resistant IQ Pack Harness -- Model # IQ C -- OMS has developed an easy to clean BC and IQ Pack by utilizing chemically resistant Urethane coated polyester fabric (5 oz. on the front and 5 oz. on the back). Both BC and IQ Pack™ are ideal for Public Safety Diving/SAR work where environmental contaminants may be a concern. -- Contaminated Water and Technical Diving Equipment

* Cylinder Cam Bands are made of standard nylon webbing.  As such, they may not be able to be fully decontaminated post dive (depending on the type and level of contamination).  Proper disposal and replacement of cam bands should be planned when appropriate.
