Their waterproof lights are the standard for scuba divers, fire fighters, utility workers and health and safety personnel. UK protective dry cases meet rigid standards set by OEMs to protect their products in challenging environments. Many Underwater Kinetics lights meet standards set by testing agencies that include FM, CSA, UL and CENELEC as well as standards set by the NFPA and Military.

C4 Xenon

Dive the 6.6 watt C4 with long lasting disposable alkaline C-size batteries in remote locations where there is no electricity. The long shelf life of alkalines will insure the light is ready when you need it in an emergency. Back home or where there is electricity, power the C4 up to its 10 watt maximum by adding the accessory Rechargeable Upgrade Kit. The unique dual lamp system allows you to switch between two different lamps underwater. Switch to a second lamp if the first burns out. When using the Rechargeable Kit switch between high-beam (10 watt) and low beam (6.6 watt). Use the high beam for spotting distant objects and the low beam for extending battery life.

High brightness xenon filled lamp | Lamps used in UK lights are designed to operate at the highest color temperature without getting too close to the burnout temperature (3000° - 3200° K.) They are filled with xenon gas to retard filament evaporation and when necessary, some have small amounts of halogen gas added. SL3 eLED

The SL3 eLED is UK's latest high performance LED dive light designed with a divers tight budget in mind. The exclusive CPO optics guarantees a tight beam with minimum spill light and the Thermal Recovery System recycles wasted heat from the LED back into the battery for increased brightness and burn time. A non-corroding resin case, double o-ring seals, 500 foot depth rating and a rear stainless steel attachment loop as well as 98 lumens output and 30 hours run time all make the SL3 worthy of clear water diving or as an essential technical diving back-up light.

The LED is the most significant innovation in portable lighting since the advent of the incandescent lamp. It is more efficient, less fragile, runs cooler, and has a 50-100 times improvement in life expectancy. The quality of light is quite different from that of an incandescent lamp. It appears much whiter and shines farther underwater. Despite all of the positives there are also some challenges. Red and purple objects do not appear as vibrant under white LED light. Brightness decreases slightly as the LED heats up. Power is limited to a few watts per LED. Large arrays of LEDs must be clustered to reach the illumination of a high wattage incandescent lamp. Although decreasing, the cost of an LED is still high, and can only be justified by the knowledge that it may never need to be replaced. | Constant Brightness: The unique electrical properties of the LED make it possible to attach it to an electronic circuit which controls power from the batteries in a flashlight in such a way that brightness and color of the beam remain constant as the batteries drain. Contrast this to a conventional flashlight with an incandescent bulb. With fresh batteries the light is extremely bright. As the batteries are consumed the light grows dim and the color turns more yellow. This feature is represented by the "e" used in naming UK eLED lights.

C4 eLED

Unlike the standard glass envelope lamps used since Edison, the LED will not break when dropped. The life expectancy is well over 5000 hours. The light emitted by the LED (light emitting diode) is similar to sunlight and travels farther underwater than the more yellow light from an Edison lamp. In addition a power control circuit is built into the light to help maintain the same brightness throughout the discharge of a set of batteries. A tough O-ring sealed ABS and polycarbonate case protects the components all the way down to 500 feet. The small size of the C4 eLED® makes it ideal for revealing the incredible marine life hidden under ledges.
