Dive Rite Reels and Lift Bags

Scuba Center is an authorized Dive Rite Dealer.
This is your assurance that your equipment will come with the full manufacturer's warranty.

Reels are more than a spool of line; they are the connection to your safety. Whether it’s tethered to a Lift Bag, or leading you out of a long penetration, the functionality of your reel is a life and death matter. Nobody has more experience with reels than Dive Rite, and they have used that experience to design the largest selection of reels in the industry. From a simple finger spool, to the *5-Series Sidewinder models, Dive Rite has the reels to Dive it All!

The Dive Rite 5-series reels feature the latest anti-fouling design. A precision machined spool-to-handle tolerances, even #24 line cannot slip between the spool and the handle. A closed-end billet aluminum handle allows ambidextrous, lateral, or vertical deployment of line while helping to prevent accidental entanglement. The lock-down screw positioned to ride on the outer race of the spool allows precise drag or complete lockdown of the reel.

Dive Rite Reel Features

Adjustable Handle: The handle and frame of Dive Rite Primary and Safety Reels now come with a series of pre-drilled holes in the handle and frame. By unbolting the handle and frame from one another, and then re-bolting them in different positions, users can adjust handle height to better fit their hands and position the handle for right- or left-hand operation, or make a side-mounted handle.

Channeled Reel Handle: The top of the handle of all Dive Rite stainless reels (again, with the sole exception of the Jump/Gap Reel) have a molded-in channel. This makes them conform more naturally to the shape of your hand and helps better cradle light handles.

Positive Lock-Down Screw: The lock-down screw on Dive Rite Primary Reels and Safety Reels is positioned so that it passes through the frame and into a space between the spool's ribs. Even when fully extended, it will not touch the spool (or put unnecessary stress on it). Yet, because it rests between the ribs, it prevents any possible movement of the spool. The lock-down screw on the Explorer Reel accomplishes the same thing by fitting into one of six holes drilled into the side of the spool.

Permanent, Flush-Mounted Axle Assembly: On nearly all other reels, the axle assembly is essentially a stainless bolt that locked in place with a hex nut and lock washer. This creates the possibility of the reel going out of adjustment, becoming either too tight or too lose. Additionally, it creates the potential for salt or sediment to build up between the nut and the threads, permanently locking them in place.

The axle on the Dive Rite reels is permanently attached to the frame. The spool locks in place with a simple "E" clip. This results in a lower profile, eliminates the possibility of thread lockup and helps ensure that the axle will never go out of adjustment. It further simplifies the removal and replacement of the spool.  This is not only helpful in sorting out line jams, it enables users to keep a number of different spools on hand, each carrying line of a different weight. Users can then select the spool that contains the line whose weight is best for a given dive, depending on their needs and the dive's objectives.

Dive Rite Lift Bags

Lift and Marker bags have come a long ways since the days of their use as a means to float an object. In fact, many boat operators insist on you having a Lift Bag on every dive. The need to mark your position by attaching a Lift Bag to your Reel and sending it the surface can be of vital importance, so whether you choose to pop a bag from a deep wreck dive, want the boat to know your location as you float down the reef on a lazy drift dive, or need some lift to get that treasure to the surface, Dive Rite has the Marker/Lift bag to make sure you get the job done.
