Mozambique sits on the southeastern side of Africa where it neighbors South Africa, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and Tanzania and sits across the Mozambique Channel from Madagascar. And while it may not be the first destination that comes to mind when you think scuba, Mozambique offers world-class diving with its well-preserved corals, playful mantas, and abundant fish life! Additionally, if your adventure spirit sways you, be prepared to be welcomed by lively and friendly culture, turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and all-around-picturesque scenery. Mozambique is sure to deliver you an unforgettable adventure! |

We start in Tofo - a small, beachside town known for its reefs and surf culture. We’ll spend 8 nights at Casa Do Mar - a charming Beach house, which sits, peering over the ocean, steps away from the beach. Casa Do Mar is a three storey building on the main beach and offers spectacular views of the main beach right up to Barra Point. The Guest House offers 9 luxurious en-suite bedrooms. These bedrooms are all en-suite and air conditioned. Four of the rooms have verandas overlooking the beautiful ocean and the beach. The sundeck and swimming pool area offers guests privacy and the opportunity to relax and soak up the sun while listening to the sea. Enjoy a drink on the veranda overlooking the ocean where whales and dolphins are a regular sight.
We’ll enjoy 6 full days of diving at Tofo’s “far reefs.” Don’t let that deter you, however, the longest boat ride won’t be more than 45min, with most falling between 20 and 30min. These dive sites are well-equipped to satisfy your diving dreams with mantas, barracudas, morays, big schools of kingfish, banner fish, moorish idols, butterfly fish, snappers, sweetlips, goldies, triggerfish, nudibranchs, and so much more! Recently, a diver surfaced and remarked; “Wow! What an aquarium!” Additionally, keep an eye on the horizon during your surface interval for breaching humpbacks! On our off-day from diving, we’ll enjoy a catamaran lunch cruise to soak up the sun and enjoy incredible views! |

Up next we head to South Africa’s sensational Kruger National Park where we’ll enjoy a 3 night stay at Lukimbi Safari Lodge. Check the Big 5 of your list! While never a guarantee, Lukimbi’s experienced guides will do their best to deliver us 2 full days of unforgettable safari experience. We’ll take small, open land rovers so that everyone has a window seat to soak up all the action! Guided river and bush walks are also available if you’d like to get the safari experience from the ground. At Lukimbi, safaris are not confined to game drives alone and you will always find good company with the animals drawn to the water of the Lwakahle River right in front of the lodge. Whether on your own private deck, at the pool, at the bar or in the dining room, you can rest assured you will have a natural spectacle in front of you every day. |
|||||||
No two 4×4 safaris are ever the same, nor are they possible to predict. It’s about being at the right place at the right time, with the right people to show you where to look. Safaris go out in the morning (just before sunrise to return in time for breakfast) and in the late afternoon (departing before sunset to return in time for dinner), and are an incomparable way to properly connect with Africa. No more than 7 people are allocated to an open shaded safari vehicle, which means that every passenger has a window seat. A maximum of 6 vehicles are out on the reserve at any given time. A Lukimbi safari is a unique take on a traditional Kruger National Park safari in that vehicles are permitted to traverse off-road under strictly controlled conditions. This, coupled with the fact that no more than 32 people enjoy 15,000 hectares of pristine protected wilderness, makes for an exclusive and highly personalised close contact safari experience.
The importance of a good guide cannot be overstated, and Lukimbi’s guides are all qualified and experienced experts. They are teamed with local trackers who were born in this area. Together they make a formidable team, whose passion and knowledge combine to deliver a standalone safari experience. Their enthusiasm is contagious, and you’ll quickly get drawn in to their excitement over predators, the medicinal uses of plants, astronomy, spoor tracking, photography and birds – to name just a few. They will hold you riveted as they jump off a vehicle to point out paw prints in the sand, or to identify a luminous chameleon in a tree.
